2004

My beginning

I started working full-time with my dad, I spent years learning the craft of Adana-making and barbecue. Though unaware at the time, these moments laid the foundation for my future. Grateful for the lessons and skills gained, they shaped who I am today, inspired by the man who taught me—my father.

2019

Our beginning

With the support of my wife, I pursued my dream of opening a shop, facing the challenges of working alongside my dad and balancing business with personal life. The pandemic hit, marking a massive learning curve, but through it all, I grew stronger, adapting to the evolving journey ahead.

2021

Our introduction to the nation

Shane Delia gave us the incredible opportunity to showcase our skills on his show Middle East Feast, introducing Turkish BBQ to the nation. This moment elevated us onto the food scene in Melbourne and beyond, and we’ll always be grateful for the chance to share our passion with a wider audience.

2023

An offering to the world

Mark Wiens and Sofia K. Levin visited us as part of Melbourne Food and Wine, trying our BBQ and changing the course of Komur. Featured on Mark’s YouTube channel, this moment catapulted us to new heights. It became a defining moment, with Mark declaring it the best thing he ate in Melbourne.

2024

Mohamed, Shane and I

As part of the 2024 Melbourne Food and Wine Shane Delia brought Mohamed Orfali of Orfali Bros to collab a one night special. The biggest thing to happen to Komur yet!
